Jennings, Hargrove THE ROSICRUCIANS: Their Rites and Mysteries. Fourth Edition, Revised Jennings took twenty years to write The Rosicrucians, the most eccentric interpretation of Rosicrucianism in existence. In Jennings' version, the Order of the Garter became a phallic cult, and the Garter itself the most intimate aid to feminine hygiene. Despite such extravagances Jennings has had a remarkable influence on many occult groups, and several of his theories were taken over by Margaret Murray in her The Witch Cult in Western Europe. The preoccupation with phallic symbolism shown in The Rosicrucians has almost certainly affected later interpreters of the psyche who follow Freud. LC75-36845 London, 1907 ISBN: 0405079575 $40.95
